One month

Well here we have it. Its been one glorious and painful month since Yiorgos was born. There have been times when i thought i would never get enough sleep to make it through a day. There were times at night when i have been so frustrated and so tired that i had cried as i tried to sooth my child. I was tired and sore and I'm just able to take long walks at reasonable paces. That was the worst was healing and at some points unable to get out of bed.
Now that one month has past i can start to actually feel some what normal. well a normal mother that is. I don't think ill be a normal women for a long time. But that's OK i have my little Yiorgos to use as a excuse and what a cute one he is.

I know i would not of been able to make it through this month without all those who were there to support me in this new experience. I first want to say thank you to my mom for raising me and my brothers and sisters. If i didn't have the experience i had from my little brothers and sister also my nephews, i would not have been able to handle the basic child care things. Also my mom was there to talk to and give me her advice and love and support that made me able to get through this all.

Secondly i would like to thank Laurie my mother in law. Who was here for the birth and the first 2 weeks. Laurie thank you. she helped me make it through the sleepless nights, helped me stay calm and breath through those nasty contractions, and she helped me around the house and fed me when i could barley move. especially when Gabe had to leave to Saskatchewan. I don't think i would have made it though without Laurie there.

Also there was heather who was there for us. She has been a great help to us. we know that we can always rely on her to be here for us when we need the help. Its a lot of fun when she brings Ray and Janel her 2 daughters over to talk and play games. It nice to be able to just be ourselves with them around.

When Grandma Gosselin came it was also a lot of fun and she was a ton of help. It was nice to see her interact with her great grandchild. She also helped a ton with helping keep us feed and the house clean. Also taking care of Yiorgos while i had some alone time. Which was much appreciated.

Gabe and I would also like to thank everyone who was there to give us advice, and stuff for Yiorgos. Thank you all. We are very excited to have our little guy and cant wait for everyone to see him and get to hold him. I think he is the most adorable baby in the world. But I'm biased..

Fort Fright

Well it has been so long since i have made a post. So here i am to rededicate myself into sticking with the whole blogging thing. So when mom was here waiting for Yiorgos to make his appearance we decided to try to scare the baby out of me. The sounds of screaming that came from the fort could be heard all over the base. As we approached the door to enter the world of fear, this gruesome guard.

Well i never thought it possible but here is proof my mom is a drunkard. Because of her antics it got her locked up in the stockades.

There were many interesting things in there. My favorite was the dead horse that is still standing. Also the skeleton with the wings was moving and saying things to the one he had in his hand. It was quite the funny skit.
There were many guards around that would hid away in corners and such. This guy sat on that ledge for 15 min we could not tell if he was real or fake. Other people were touching him and he still did not stir. Then when the time was right they would start moving and scare everyone.
All in all i didn't scare the baby out of me. Which was unfortunate because mom didn't get to see Yiorgos. Also i was huge and i just wanted that baby out. This is of me and mom on the cannons at the fort.

additional

I wasn't sure what happened and then all of a sudden it was like wham you have been posted so this is just the last bit of our little hunnymoon.
These pictures of me and gabe early that morning seeing the falls for the first time.....well i saw them for the first time.
The ones on our right are the canadian falls and the ones on the left are the american falls. At night they light them up and it is really something to see unfortuantly we dont have thoes pictures developed yet that is if we took them i dont remember.
Downtown there are so many things to see. like the wax museam and the world record place. gabe is sitting in a replica of the the worlds tallest man's chair that he had.
Well that pretty much ends our little adventure at the falls. it was so much fun and when you guys comevisit we will take you. just were going to avoid toront traffic

A little about me......

Well, Any one who reads this or has any interest in this probably already knows me. My name is Samantha! and i am married to a wonderful guy named Dionysios or Gabe for short. I finally decided since my little one is almost here....Another month and a bit to go...yay! I thought that i would finally just start this and let all you people know out there in western canada how my life is going.

Well about a month ago me and gabe finally went on a homeymoon. .Well consindering it was a year and a half late and i was pregnant we went to Niagra Falls. which is only a short 4 hour drive. well 6 hrs if you get stuck in Toronto traffic and that is crazy in its self. We were there for 2 days and had a tonn of fun we went on the maid of the mist. which was when you go on the boat right at the bottem of the falls. We were very wet when we got back. This is the blue screen shot they gave us right before we got on the boat.

We also went to the butterfly conservatory. There were hundreds of butter flys there it was so much fun walking around and taking pictures of all the different types of butterflys. This is my favorite picture.

There was also a bird santuary and we got to see a tucan which i thought was pretty cool. There were many different types of birds there that i had no idea what type they were there. As we walked we had to make sure we didn't get hit with any droopings from the birds. also there was a bird there that had just stood up to feed her young. The lady who worked there said that it was very rare for anyone who to see her reveal the baby. The male was always very close to help take care of the young. I really hope gabe is there like that. Then again he is known for worring to much and making a fuss. sometimes hes more of a mother hen then i am.
While we were there in a different room there was a reptile guy who had a bunch of different reptiles.
The snake i have around my neak is a Ball python. After seeing her gabe and i decided to get one of our own. she is fun and very easy to take care of. Gabe is very happy with her.
Also there is gabe holding a scorpian. i couldnt hold it i was to scared, but it was harmless the sting would only feel like a bee sting. It was just to creepy.
This little guy was gabe couldn't get enough of. It seemed that he was grinning and winking at us. we couldn't resit taking a picture of him to show everyone.
